Uni- / bi- und multidirectional Distraction-Systems
According to the indication, the various directional distractor systems can be chosen and be applied for distraction / extension of small bone fragments. The uni- / bi- and multidirectional distractors are established distraction devices which consider the anatomical structure of the mandible. The easy handling and the supremely stable manufacture permit a progressive cullus distraction in all levels.
Bone Transport System
The multidirectional Bone Transport System is an established distraction device, which is well adapted to the anatomical structures of the mandible. Ilizarov has developed a technique about the segmental bone transport in the case of a continuity defect in the range of the hollow bones. According to his technique this method can also be used in the mandible if continuity defects came up after tumor resections or severe traumata. The ''U-Bolt'' which has been constructed on the base of clinical experiences provides the opportunity of a variable fixation at the residual mandible. Furthermore it is possible to displace one or several bone segments at the same time. The extremely light but nevertheless very stable materials of the system (solely titanium and aluminum) bring out a big advantage for surgeons and patients.
